Description

Course description:

This course covers essential training regarding installation, servicing and commissioning of unvented and open vented systems; thermostatic mixing valves; and safety devices and will enable you to comply with Part G3 and L1 of the building regulations.

The Unvented Hot Water Scheme has been designed to test the competence of engineers in the requirements of Building Regulations Part G3, enabling application to either join a Competent Person Scheme, allowing the self-certification of installations, or to notify the local building control department prior to commencing work.

Units covered in this programme include:

  • Vented and unvented systems and their operating principles
  • Design and installation
  • Maintenance
  • Compliance with other building regulations
  • Typical faults associated with the installation or maintenance of unvented systems

 

Progression:

The course requires candidates to have a knowledge and understanding of plumbing and heating systems and is best suited to existing plumbing engineers. The course will provide knowledge on unvented domestic hot water systems.

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a certificate of competence.
